autumn twilight

… where the water meets the sea, between the worlds, within the void …

the spiritual beginning of Spring.

Seems to be the season for new projects. Half the people I know are beginning to involve themselves with one project or another. Possibly more than that. Seems to be is probably the wrong way of putting it. It is the season for new projects. That’s one of the core elements of this season. As we leave winter and go into spring we leave behind stagnation, stillness, and reflection for the freshness of planting new seeds, tending them carefully, and watching them grow into fruits or flowers.

It seems really noticable this year, more noticable than in years past. I’m not sure if that is just a perception based on the immediacy of what I’m feeling now, or if it’s a genuine recognition of a powerful cycle starting. I do have the feeling that this year will be eventful. I have premonitions of good things in general, but lots and lots of change. Last year I knew it was going to be rough. This year I will be surprised if it’s exceptionally challenging. I’m looking forward to the joy of fresh planting, of new projects, and of rebuilding and refreshing old projects and relationships.

It’s hard to believe that it’s only the end of February. It feels like 2009 has been here for a while, like it’s flying by. A lot has happened in the 9 or 10 weeks since the new year, and it seems like that will be the pace intended for much of the rest of the year.
